In the latest sear for America’s best cities, Kiplinger named Austin the #1 in best cities for the next decade. Why you might ask? Three factors: smart people, great ideas, and collaboration. This is not exactly something new to those who live in Austin but what is impressive is that the rest of the world is starting to see how awesome Austin truly is. In a place where the educational institutions, business communities, and the government work together, prosperity and economic growth is certain. As the article expressed, “it’s no coincidence that economic vitality and livability go hand in hand.”

The entertainment scene is, by far, one of the most intriguing things about Austin. Its business and academic communities are constantly evolving; there is no lack of networking events and educational opportunities here. Austin is definitely one of the “country’s best crucible for small business,” due to a mix of elements “called a classless society, where hippie communalism coexists with no-nonsense capitalism.” It’s no wonder they’ve chosen Austin as the #1 city in the nation! This means Austin will be one of the most sought out cities in the states in the coming decade for both education, entrepreneurship opportunities and more. The Mediterranean style of architecture has experienced a huge revival in the US, particularly the Southwest and Texas Hill Country. This style of architecture invokes the sunny, open, colorful old world charm of the region it comes from. With many Spanish elements often blended with French Country and Tuscan styles, it fits into the Hill Country landscape perfectly.

Archways leading into tiled courtyards or covered patios are defining staples of the Mediterranean architectural style, and are wonderful to enjoy in warm climates. These homes are instantly recognizable – most people think of the image of the classic terra cotta colored roof. From the front, elaborate entryways usually feature a fountain.
